Texas A&M in Commerce, which is real close to where we live, had the Navy Band in concert, so Steve and I went a week ago Monday. It was a really great concert with a wide variety of music. It's one of the few things we've done since we've been in Texas. I'm sure there's all kinds of stuff out there to do, go to, or see, it just isn't close or it's always a time we can't make it. A group from church is going to Commerce this Friday evening to the planetarium and we hope to make it there.Thursday, March 12, 2009

Do You Recognize...
... this group from the 70's?

Steve, John, Esther and I were helping Mom pack up her stuff and we came across all kinds of photos we hadn't seen in years. So, keep checking back, you might see some pics that surprise you -- or that you wish you didn't see.
Off to Cal-i-for-ni-a

Steve and I got back from California just in time to help Ken and Amanda have that one final yard sale. Then we helped them load the truck and clean (ugh) the apartment. That place was spic and span by the time they left and they should be getting their whole deposit back or I'm going to find out why. As you can see from the smiles on their faces they were so happy to leave Killeen. I told them no matter how happy they were to leave they still needed to take a picture for their scrapbook.
Melting Pot
Evidently, when we made our trip to California for Christmas Cathy and Kelly decided to celebrate everything for Stephen and me at that time. We celebrated Steve's 55th birthday (which was 12/17/08), our 30th wedding anniversary (which isn't until 04/07/09) and my 60th birthday (which isn't until 06/30/09). We went to dinner at the Melting Pot for dinner and it was delicious. You would think from all those little pieces of food you might not get a lot to eat, but we had lots of stuff left over. After dinner I got some badly needed luggage and learned I am being taken to Washington D.C. for my birthday. We're scheduled to go the end of March/first of April and I can hardly wait.
